Lucky Strikes, or simply Luckies, appeared on the market in 1871 as a brand of chewing tobacco that later became a cigarette. Luckies were popular in the early 20th century involved in various music and radio projects, endorsed by famous Hollywood stars and featured in the recent TV series Mad Men.
In the 60s the filtered version of the classic Luckies was launched followed by the menthol Lucky Strikes Green. Unfortunately for the brand these versions didn"t take on and their distribution in US and Canada was discontinued. Classical unfiltered Luckies, however, still have rather small customer base at home.
