Japanese Cigarettes Manufacturers
These days the tobacco companies are adding lines to their products because of the effect that they believe the tax would have. They do not want to go out of business so they are diversifying as much as they can.
This October, the tax on tobacco products increased by 30%, which is by far the biggest, leapt in the history of Japan tobacco industry. While there were extensive sales in the month of September according to the government there was an 80% increase in the cigarettes sales following the month, the tax was to be enforced.
The companies are afraid that the sales would decrease sharply in October because of the increased tax. Some of the people will reduce their cigarette consumption, while some will quit smoking completely.
